Odds from Bet 365 (as of August 13, 2024)
Vegas Big 10 football title odds have been consistent since late January — the favorite to win the 2024 Big 10 football title is the Ohio State Buckeyes (+150). And why not. While retaining many key players who could have easily been high 2024 NFL draft picks (like RB Treveyon Henderson, DE J.T. Tuimoloau, CB Denzel Burke) , the Buckeyes also supplemented their roster with key transfers (QB Will Howard, S Caleb Downs) , and had their typical Big Ten leading recruiting class that has several potential impact players led by #1 rated incoming recruit WR Jeremiah Smith.
But Ohio State will have their challengers led by the consistently #2 rated Oregon Ducks (+200) who under Dan Lanning is battling the Buckeyes for bringing in the best transfers (like QB Dillon Gabriel and WR Evan Stewart) and for the top recruiting class in the conference.
And don’t forget about James Franklin’s Penn State (+450) squad which has the third best Big Ten football title odds. The Nittany Lions have been knocking on the door just behind Ohio State and Michigan but have a second year QB starter in Drew Allar who they hope will make huge improvements and combined with their talented roster hope to finally break through this year and win their first Big 10 title since 2016.
Fourth best is the defending national champion Michigan Wolverines (+600) who despite losing first round NFL QB draft pick J.J. McCarthy and a ton of talent still returns several key, All-American type players (like CB Will Johnson, and DT Mason Graham) who will offer the strong leadership and play to keep them in the running.
From there the Big 10 football title odds drop considerably to #5 favorite USC Trojans (+2200). But with the Big 10 moving to 18 teams for the first time in 2024, you can count on some team or two to emerge and challenge the favorites. Here are the Big 10 title odds according to vegasinsider.com
